Stephanie Heidemann is an early music soprano, performing Gregorian chant, Indian raga, and improvisational chant. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Stephanie grew up in Venezuela, Australia and Germany. Her music background is in classical piano, world percussion, and classical/opera. Stephanie toured nationally (1994-2001) with world music a cappella quartet, VIDA (IMG-Artists). In 2003, Stephanie released her solo debut album, The Cantiga Project, a tribute of early Spanish music. In 2012, she received the Ringling Towers Award and Hermitage Artist Residency; performed at TedXSarasota; was lead vocalist for The Resonance Project group, and sang with Musica Sacra Cantorum. After a music hiatus focused on raising her son, in 2022, Stephanie was an artist-in-residence at Hundredth Hill where she worked on her second album, Starseed – a combination of original music, early Spanish, and Celtic folk arrangements.
