The Resonance Project
Vocalist Stephanie Heidemann and Percussionist Julian Douglas form The Resonance Project.
Using the most simple yet evocative instruments, drum and voice are spare instruments that communicate right from and to the soul. Their complex rhythmic arrangements of traditional and uniquely original material draw from indigenous, folk & mystical traditions from Eastern Europe, Africa, and India.
They currently (2009-2010) provide vast musical collages from traditions around the world as soundtracks for short films by David Gittens. Gratitude was released on Spring Equinox 2010. Solstice will be released on Summer Solstice (June 21) 2010. It was included in the 2010 Sarasota Fringe Film Festival.
TRP collectively teaches interactive workshops on Voice & Rhythm with an emphasis on music as a personal transformative experience. They currently present a Workshop and Concert Series entitled “Sound & Silence”.
From 2006-2007, The Resonance Project collaborated with R&B singer-songwriter Charles Gibson on his tribute album, co-releasing Your Voice Through Mine, an intimate collection of original songs that moves the soul.
